This board game is a cynical role playing interactive journey simulating the foot steps of a refugee. A game of luck you play with your life when you are forced to leave your home in search of safety and normalcy.
You get to choose among the counties with the highest number of displaced people: Syria, Eritrea, Iraq and Afghanistan. The game is the collective experience of the stories and realities endured by refugees you follow on the board map. The objective of the game is to stay alive. The last player remaining wins.
The world has become a very complicated place to live in.The ongoing refugee crisis is one of the biggest displacement of people that we are witnessing since world war two. I intend to with this project dig deeper into this charade that has developed over a period of time, which with each passing day is getting worse.
Tracking the history of these war torn states, and trying to make sense of the situation that we are facing. Collecting stories of the victims who's only fault Becomes their origin or birth. Understanding the crisis in numbers and figures on who is more affectedness and why. And translating thesis understandings in a way that Other people can get the first hand experience of these Circumstances and situations.
Where it becomes a game - but is it really? This project is a translation of this research and process-which Becomes a journey in itself That tries to draw in people to experience what it likes to be in such a situation.
