Artistic Aptitude Test Conducting (Ochestra) Leuven

You want to register for the Artistic Aptitude Test in Music at LUCA Music for the Classical Performance Programme as a bachelor student. On the previous page you already found the date of the deadline for online registration for this test and the date when you are expected on campus. On this page you will find more info on what this test entails and how it will proceed.

The Artistic Aptitude Test consists of a written motivation, an artistic test and an interview. In addition, an orientation test for the ear-training program is organized on the same day (you can find a sample test below).
A few days after the deadline of the online section, the detailed schedule will be delivered via email.

A distinction is made between choral conducting, HaFaBra conducting and symphonic orchestral conducting.

PART 1 - ONLINE 

Written motivation

Upon registration, you will receive a link to the online environment where you will find instructions for this. In a short text you clarify your motivation for the chosen programme.

PART 2 - ON CAMPUS

Artistic Test ob Campus Lemmens

The Artistic Aptitude Test consists of an ear training test (a harmonic and a 1-voice atonal dictation), a rhythmic reading and a conducting test in which the candidate conducts some short works for an orchestra, ensemble or piano.

Interview on Campus Lemmens

A brief interview with the judges will assess your motivation and personal ambitions.

RESULTS

Within a week of the test, you will be notified of the results of the Artistic Aptitude Test.
