International Internships

At LUCA, we offer 3 internship categories:

  • Erasmus+: internship as formal part of a study programme
  • Erasmus+: recent graduates
  • (Junior) researchers

The duration of an internship at LUCA typically ranges from 2 to 3 months, depending on the specific requirements and goals of the internship.

Internships are usually not possible during July-August-September due to the Summer closing and consequent start of the new academic year.

Erasmus+: Internship during studies

You can apply for an internship at LUCA as an exchange student on condition that there is an active cooperation agreement between the higher education institute (university, school of arts or alike) where you are currently studying and LUCA. You can obtain more information about the cooperation agreements via the International Office at your university or by browsing the LUCA partnership database.

Erasmus+: Internship as recent graduate

You can apply for an internship at LUCA under the Erasmus+ traineeship programme as a recent graduate (within 12 months after graduating). As a recent graduate trainee, an active an active cooperation agreement between LUCA and your former institution is not necessary.

(Junior) Researchers

For a research internship an IIA is not required. The trainee stays enrolled as student at the home university and we will register the trainee as an exchange student but without exchange window or course units.

At LUCA we have 5 different research units. Before applying, it is advised to have a look at the units and its researchers. If you see a possible match with one of our researchers’ work, feel free to contact them to discuss an internship possibility with them.
