You want to register for the Master Assessment in Music at LUCA Music for the Classical Performance Programme as an international master student (not part of the Erasmus Programme). On the previous page you already found the date of the deadline for online registration for this test and the date of the online interview. On this page you will find more info on what this test entails and how it will proceed.

Written motivation
Upon registration, you will receive a link to the online environment where you will find instructions for this. In a short text you clarify your motivation for the chosen programme.
Artistic test
As an instrumentalist or singer, you will perform a number of compositions in a variety of styles representative of your technical and musical abilities. We expect this at least at a Bachelor diploma level. Below is the required program for each instrument.

3 works of your choice. |
| Chamber Music | minimum 20 minutes of repertoire, with the formation with which you will start the Master Chamber Music. |

Recorder |
3 works of your choice in contrasting style. |
| Folk instruments | 3 works of your choice. |
|
Guitar |
3 works from different stylistic periods including at least 1 étude (Villa Lobos level). |
|
Harp |
3 works of your choice including 1 étude and 1 Baroque and/or Romantic work. |
|
Wood Winds/Brass/ |
3 works from different style periods including 1 étude. |
|
Organ |
3 works including minimum 1 work by J.S.Bach (or other Baroque composer) and min. 1 work from later style period (19th, 20th or 21st century). |

Piano |
Candidates must present three significant works in different styles, carefully selected to showcase their artistic and technical abilities. |

Percussion |
1 work for classical or rudimental small drum (e.g. Delécluse, Coutelier, Markovich, Wilcoxon). 1 work for four-pole melodic percussion (marimba or vibraphone) 1 work for timpani or drums or set-up of your choice. |

Strings |
3 works from different style periods. |

Voice |
A program of 7 works to be selected from the song, opera, AND oratorio repertoire:
To be performed in at least 4 different languages chosen from the following list: Italian, German, English, French, Dutch, Latin, Russian, Czech/Polish, Spanish/Portuguese. International candidates must also include, along with the video recording of the programme, a video message in English explaining why they wish to study at LUCA/Campus Lemmens. |
The test will be judged by the teaching staff of your instrument.
You must upload a video with the programme from the list above. Please, upload one video (in one take) through the online environment.
Interview
A brief interview will assess your motivation and personal ambitions.
This interview will be held online. The info and platform will be sent beforehand.
*The Master Assessment for international students (i.e. people living outside of Belgium) consists of a written motivation, an artistic test and an online interview. Candidates will upload the written motivation and the artistic test. The interview is held online.
For those wishing to come to campus, we organize the artistic test and interview in Leuven on July 1st. If so, please indicate this in your enrollment form!
RESULTS
Within a week of the test, you will be notified of the results of the Master Assessment.

- Deadline online part August 26th 2025: test on September 4th 2025
A detailed schedule will be sent to you by email a few days before the Assessment.
The Master Assessment consists of several parts. You will receive a link to the online admission test by email after your registration and go through the different parts. After that, you will receive an invitation for the additional interview with teachers and/or possibly a practical test on campus.
