Ready to take your passion to the next level? Dive into our course details below and see how Narafi can help you kickstart your journey!
Our professional bachelor’s degree in Photography is a dynamic, hands-on, assignment-driven programme where creativity meets technical skill. You will not only learn to master the (technical) tools of photography and video, but you will also develop your own personal style and unique perspective on the art form.
Our programme covers a wide range of photography genres, from still life, portraits, and fashion, to documentary, large format and architectural photography. In addition to capturing images, we place a strong emphasis on image editing and post-production techniques. Exchange students ideally should have a basic understanding of the most used image manipulation tools (Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Capture One Pro). We also dive into the basics of short, professional video productions, capturing sound and moving images.
As you move through the course, you’ll be encouraged to explore your personal interests, guiding you towards becoming an authentic image maker with a clear artistic vision and a portfolio that reflects both technical mastery and creative depth.
Exchange students studying during the second semester will participe in our yearly portrait and fashion week. This project week is led by professional photographers, specialised in high end fashion and portraiture.
If you plan on studying only during the second semester (semester 2) you should have a working knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom Classic and Premiere as well as a sound knowledge of flash photography (in studio and on location).

The programme is officially taught in Dutch, but we do our best to provide guidance and feedback in English where possible. All the classes in our programme are practical classes (no theory).
For this particular programme, a command of Dutch is recommended in combination with a good command of English (B2).

If the basic principle of the policy plan means that 'quality is our driving force', and that every aspect of the policy can be tested against this, then LUCA undeniably wants to develop and nurture a strong quality culture: a culture that leaves based on trust in people with talent and expertise, and which is aimed at valuing, inspiring and improving.
The formal quality framework for training within LUCA was named KOPERA, which stands for: Critically Analyzing the Quality of Training with Peers in Own Direction.
For KOPERA, LUCA starts from a vision of quality care that is based on trust and aimed at valuing, inspiring and improving.
During the six-year KOPERA cycle, each training course receives a panel of critical friends who examine the implementation of the quality characteristics and examine how the training contributes to the general LUCA policy.
The final element of KOPERA is the ultimate assurance of training quality. The key question is: "Does the program have a good quality culture that follows the 'plan-do-check-act' circle?"
LUCA publishes a quality sheet for each course. You can find this on the Education Quality page.
