This years Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlinale goes to Nanu Tudor by Olga Lucovnicova. Olga made this film as a graduation film in the Master in Documentary Film Making - DocNomads. The award also makes Nanu Tudor eligible for the Oscar for Best Short Film in 2022.
In "Nanu Tudor", Olga travels back to her great-grandparents' home in Moldova where she suffered childhood trauma. This isn't the first award for Nanu Tudor. In December 2020 Lucovnicova’s graduation project received a VAF Wildcard award at the International Korfilm Festival Leuven.
DOC NOMADS is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Documentary Filmmaking. It is a two-year, full time, international graduate program (120 ECTS) delivered by a consortium of three prominent European universities across three countries: Portugal, Hungary and Belgium.
