Internationally lauded trumpeter Bert Joris is one of the few who has achieved enviable levels in all three areas, performing music, composing and arranging. Since the mid-1980s, Joris has built a reputation as a lyrical musician whose elegance and warm, silky tone have made him the reference for trumpet players in Belgium. In addition, his compositions have found their way into the repertoire of countless musicians at home and abroad. Joris is also a top-class arranger, working with some of the best in the business, such as the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, which has performed many of his colourful and layered compositions and arrangements. Moreover, Joris played a key role in the founding and development of LUCA School of Arts' current jazz programme.
