LUCA CINEMA: 'Moonlight' (Barry Jenkins 2019)

Film screening

In the context of Black History Month we present a screening of the awarded film 'Moonlight' in the campus Atrium. The screening is free, so it's an ideal opportunity to experience this filmic gem on a big screen. This will also be the first campus event under the 'Cinema Luca' moniker.

Over Moonlight

'Moonlight' tells the story of Chiron, a young man growing up in Miami, as he struggles with his identity, masculinity, sexual orientation and place in the world. The movie covers three important periods in his life: as a child, as a teenager, and as a grown man.

'Moonlight' won 3 Academy Awards (Oscar) in 2016, including Best Film. It is widely regarded as one of the best movies of the 21st century, praised for the hypnotic direction by Barry Jenkins, splendid acting, and a noteworthy chopped & screwed soundtrack by Nicholas Britell.
