Are you considering studying at LUCA School of Arts C-mine | Genk, but want to find out what learning and campus life are really like?
During the Open Class Day on March 19, you’ll have the chance to experience it firsthand! You’ll attend an introduction session for each program – Animated Film, Game Design, Photography, Product Design, and Television-Film – where you’ll learn about our unique approach and the focus of each discipline. After that, you’ll dive into a workshop, getting hands-on experience in our inspiring studios.
Our professors and students will be there to answer your questions and guide you through what it’s like to study at LUCA. This is the perfect opportunity to discover if LUCA C-mine is the right fit for you!
You are welcome from 1:00 PM in 'De Straat', the central hallway in the middle of the building. After a short welcome, groups will be divided by program.
The trial classes and workshops start at 2:00 PM and run until 5:00 PM. This is your chance to truly experience what it’s like to study at LUCA School of Arts C-mine | Genk!

Enter the wonderful world of animation! In two consecutive workshops you will get a crash course in stop-motion animation and 2D digital animation.
Learn how to transform images using AI tools in Photoshop and bring your ideas to life, then print your own creation with a state-of-the-art RISO printer.
We start with an introduction to film analysis, where you will examine some scenes from recent films and look for hidden gems in cinematography and storytelling. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop on scenario and script development by fiction director Gert Embrechts.
Hack your environment! Design and create a gadget together with Productdesign students to enhance your learning and living space. During the open lesson day, you'll work with wood, metal, and foam to bring your ideas to life. Afterwards you can join an inspiring presentation by master's students about their recent field trip to Berlin.
Together with some students and teachers from LUCA you will design your own first board game. In one go you will learn the core principles of game design.
